Bingham Junction Park
Bingham Junction Park is a great Midvale park. There’s a gigantic grassy area for the children that is perfect for play. It has hill with a mound at the top. It has a great view to see the park–as well as the mountains and the whole valley. But it’s not there by accident. When it’s winter time, it becomes a sledding hill. The site functions not only as a park but as a regional retention basin adjacent to the Jordan River. The design and planning accommodates the 100-year flood plain while protecting major features within the park.. Bingham Junction Park makes up for its size with some unique playgrounds, a brand new Utah Jazz themed basketball court, and access to the Jordan River Parkway trail for daily walks and hikes.
There’s a bit of a techie design to the place with the circuit board/microchip design between the pavilion and the basketball courts.
The basketball courts are amazing! Six different hoops, all adjustable to regular height or slam-dunkable for those with non-existent jumping capabilities. You can play a full-court game on a high-quality hard court (donated by, and adorned with, the logo of the Utah Jazz). With the long steps by it, the area doubles as an amphitheater.
There is also a full-sized sunken baseball field, equipped with walls and lights for night games. The covered play area is the perfect meshing of rope of all sizes you you can limber up and play with the ropes. Kids are also very welcome at the park with its nice playgrounds. Several table-benches and the cleanest restrooms for your convenience are available. This is the perfect place to take the family on just about any day.
